DAYS OF APPRECIATION
Connection
Connection
Anyone who's ever shared a life with an animal knows how special that relationship can be. Animals love, nourish and teach us great lessons of immense value. My first cat, Laskhmi taught me what love is and with every step he took until the day he passed, he showed me how to love and be loved in return. He was the love of my life. He gave me a space to experience love in a safe way, without expectations or manipulations. I got to witness the incredible resource of inner strength I never knew I had and I grew inside the deep understanding of what love really means.
My new kitten, Benny has been sick since the day I brought him home. When caring for a sick animal or other, it can be very trying. It’s stressful and can leave you feeling unsteady. You feel lost and confused, filled with a lot of questions. I closed my eyes and began my yoga session moving deeply in my body to surrender. I opened myself in meditation and heard, "Kitty is teaching you about connection."
Wow, what a blessing! This kitten chose me and I him to learn the ways in being connected in relationship. How to build, maintain, and sustain connection in a mutually satisfying way.

THE BENNY CONNECTION
1- Complacency will only drain vitality.
Be conscious about spending meaningful and quality time. The interactive experience is important and deliciously life-giving.
2- Responsibility and Commitment are integral parts to the whole.
Commitment can easily slip away from the mind and Responsibility can quickly fly out the window but Dedication stands with another- preserves, supports, and cherishes the connection. You keep going, because just being there is what really counts.
3- Provide a clean, heathy, healing environment.
This is so important to offer, maintain and share with each other. If one drops the ball, negativity can seep in. The mind can be contaminated with doubts and insecurities will breed feelings of dissatisfaction, perhaps being the deepest root of all illness.
4- Tune into each other.
It's an honor to tune into another, to have an interest and be embraced by their unique, soulful signature. Take each other in, to understand each other better. Develop a beautiful ebb and flow, an orchestra of blended notes that play in the right and well-balanced harmonics.
5- Don't let it be all about you.
Give of your time in knowing the other. Pay attention when they’re not looking to witness what brings them joy and observe what naturally fills their spirit. Discover interest in the unknown. Share in each other's individuality, even if you are different.
6-Look in each other's eyes.
Spend time soul gazing and find each other. Gaze long and affectionately to feel their love and even longer still, to send yours, so they know how much you care. Give and receive fully, take it in and let it penetrate you so you can feel the vibration in love. You’ll know it by seeing it and you’ll touch it by feeling it in their soul.
