Boundaries Relieve Toxic Empathy

Picture
Toxic empathy is when we take on another’s energy, mood, character, and/or behaviors as our own. What that means is, that we can temporarily lose sight of who we are and become a similar version of that “outside influence” which, at times, can also include surrounding environments and/or certain circumstances as well.

Boundaries help us preserve and maintain what is of value to and inside us. Healthy empathy is an awareness of another’s feeling system and attempting to understand how they might feel without taking it on or becoming it. Toxic Empathy on the other hand, goes that step further in that one changes in accordance with the influence. This can be conscious or unconscious. When taking on outside influences in this way, it can alter how we would naturally respond by distorting energy, mood, character, and/or behavior to match or suit the nature of the influence. Once that occurs, we have abandoned ourselves, and often, can feel confused about who we are, what we’re doing, and why. This illustrates how toxic empathy creates an unhealthy attachment, that sometimes, isn’t that easy to just shake off.

So, we have to be mindful of outside influences but more importantly, we need to notice when we are reverting backwards or acting outside of our personal character. Once we notice the presence of influence we can stop, stand firm and return to our own personal way of being. This is the act of healthy separation which, establishes an alignment that is more self-governing while fostering a quality of inter-dependence in relational, environment and situational interactions. You are free to be who you are. Another’s behavior, mood, energy, character doesn’t have the power in and of itself to blot you out. You can set healthy boundaries to protect and maintain your own sense of value.

Love,
Jennifer

Set Yourself on Fire and Free Yourself

Picture
Transformation is a process of redemption, not pain. The transition doesn’t break you down. It breaks you through. It’s the quantum leap through that which binds you and reveals what was there all along. To know thy self, is a wondrous discovery and is always paving the way toward a freedom from that which binds the self. It’s a dynamic evolution into becoming the person you were created to be. The great internal change, where the fire of transformation melts matter to manifest all that truly matters.

The act of transformation doesn’t kill off the self, it warms the soul out from its frozen state. It releases you from the old constructs; the image of who you thought you were, think you should be, and from the opinions of other’s that took away from you, who you actually are. That fire burns through and dissolves; old paradigms, unruly perceptions, projections and it strikes the true alignment that ignites personal revelation. This is the beauty of the blaze. It brings in the light, illuminates the dampened down, darkened places that held your truth hostage of what is and always will be inherent in you, which is your true inheritance.

All you can do is surrender. Let the unknown be known. Let the spirit rise and the soul awaken to be born again, brand new. Knowing that the surprise is not in the fire itself, it’s in the aftermath, the freedom to rise unencumbered. It’s the great reveal of what is true and authentic to your natural being. The self that is soul, untouched and always pure. So, step inside, set yourself on fire and free yourself.

Love,
Jennifer

The Nature of Healing

Picture
The nature of healing is to emphasize and support your inherent state of wholeness. It is a matter of remembrance, a return to your natural state of being. It resides within an open heart and the willingness to be close with your spirit. So close, that you hear its’ deepest pangs in your bones and that reverberation, becomes your calling. When you work towards healing, you merge the heart with soul and recognize that they are one. It’s the re-connection of your true self and an intimate understanding of the “self-less” being in all its wisdom. You acknowledge what exists already inside you and take action when you hear the call. This is where the process of healing becomes the healer.

The Struggle Mindset

Picture

A struggle mindset means we often approach life from the perspective of having to overcome hassles and burdens and often, think we have to overcome them alone. With this kind of mindset, it’s common to feel shame around asking for help or blaming ourselves for not “having it altogether.” There is a tendency to only focus on the struggles vs. the easier path or we may overlook and completely neglect how far we’ve come because we're so busy fighting fires. This constant survival response provokes a pattern of over-effort and can trigger an underlying need to prove that we can manage, cope, and be resilient inside the experience of constant struggle. But the reality is we’re tired, exhausted and have had enough. This vicious cycle can exclude us from what we really need in times of struggle. Important emotional nourishment like, support, comfort, and giving ourselves permission to let go and surrender.

Be kind to yourself. You’re okay. You’ve done enough. You are enough. And when you allow yourself to surrender, you will claim your right to receive what is naturally yours effortlessly.

What is Integrity?

Picture

Integrity to me feels like yellow. A soft yet bright yellow, like custard. It has substance and tastes good but it’s not sweet. It stays in a way that’s satisfying. It lives in the belly but doesn’t take up empty space or float by just to be seen. It’s present. It has presence and power. It’s like looking into the sun. Sometimes, you can’t look directly at it but you can feel it light up and warm every ounce of your being. Integrity anchors you, keeps you safe, even when your blinded. It’s here. It’s alive, It’s rooted inside you like an anchor, securing legs and feet to stand on.

And when at rest, Integrity simply seems to widen and fill everything it touches with great value. It’s the stamp of approval that has nothing to prove. It’s the master of instinct, the knowing in action, part muscle, moving through the core like a deep extension of the self. It grows from inside and gives conviction to beliefs. It manifests and perpetuates more of itself through individual choice and personal responsibility, bringing a greater alignment with your greatest self.

It’s clear, that in relationship with Integrity, it informs me of the life I want to experience with a sense of strength and resilience. It helps me to stay on track, be consistent, forthright and to embody the true nature of my authentic self. Being true to yourself is the most honest way to live and to generate a sense of power in your life.

Empowerment through Choice

Picture

There is power in giving ourselves choice and when we choose for ourselves, we can feel the right to be powerful.
The power of choice allows you to create your destiny which, includes all parts of yourself, from your deepest needs to your most authentic spiritual-self. When you choose what's good for you, it will naturally be good for all others. This kind of inclusion does not negate anything or anybody. It includes and honors your deepest core connections that becomes a roadmap to a genuine relationship with yourself, preparing the road for authentic relations with others. Personal choice gives birth to unlimited possibilities and keeps you in motion, never stuck or stagnant. By honoring your inner self-knowing, you bridge that gap.

Giving yourself choice, gives you power. Making choices for yourself, helps you to feel how powerful you are.

AT A SNAIL’S PACE

Picture
I decided to go back to the forest, to plant myself amongst the trees and unleash my spirit in the air. It was a moment in time, where wind and breath become a continuum of fresh born life. It was a cloudy day, pregnant with a sense of rain but not a drop touched the ground and with each step forward, I unfolded through tiny wildflowers peeking through leaves and sticks. There were exotic mushrooms mounted on trees, and open-faced acorns awaiting complete consumption by frisky little critters lurking about. The trail was supposed to be 1.2 miles, but time seemed to be moving at length and the path felt like it ran on and on forever. Every time I thought I completed the loop, I found myself walking more and I must admit, I was feeling a little anxious. I was walking alone, and the ground-scape seamlessly blended into the path so, I had to hold on to my footing very carefully. No sooner than I thought, “Am I headed the wrong way?” I heard a young couple walking up behind me. As they neared my location, I asked with an awkward chuckle, “Hey, does this trail ever end?” I was assured by the young man that we were all close to our final destination. At first, they followed me and again very awkwardly, I uttered, “Well, if we never get out of here, at least we have each other…” but the path veered in a direction further into the woods. Once we realized that, the young man took charge and redirected. Now, I was walking behind them.

Boy, they moved fast and at a rapid clip! Talking and laughing and moving swiftly by, just maneuvering with accuracy and skill; up and down small hills, squeezing through narrowing paths, stepping on top and underneath rocks, jumping over fallen trees and beyond! One foot in front of the other, onward they went! At first, I just wanted to keep up with them, so I didn’t feel alone or lost. Then I became curious as to how in the world they were conquering this path like some secret walking weapons of destruction or something. I was trying to keep up with them, my feet in rhythm and pace with theirs but the terrain could easily twist and break an ankle. I couldn’t imagine how fast they were going with such ease when I was gasping for breath to the point I could almost taste stagnation. I thought about youth and age and the differences between, sweating through this fury to the end. Nothing in the path phased them and I was falling further and further behind.

Then, I decided to just be me, to go at my pace and come back to the ground where my steps followed the wild-flowers and magic mushrooms. I deliberately slowed my pace down and found my footing. I kept one eye on them and an inner eye on me. I moved gracefully and with reflection, engaging with the secrets and signature of nature. My lungs found breath again, my body caught up with my feet, my heart rate balanced, harmonizing with the surroundings and I was present. I was moving but I was here, and I was now. They were fading, moving out of my vision but I was here, and I was now and then eventually, they were gone. Now, just an apparition of others once walking their path. That’s when I stopped. I looked down and saw the pearlescent spiral of a shell, like a backpack of wisdom moving atop the rocks. It was a snail moving at his own pace, one meter at a time. I’ve never seen a snail in person before and then I heard the wind whisper, it said, “When you slow down, you get to see what’s for you and experience what’s yours.”

Self Healing is Self Aligning

Picture
ELEPHANT MEDICINE
Elephants represent many things. They are beautiful symbols of luck, prosperity, and the strength to endure. They are caring, intelligent, and deeply compassionate beings that give an air of presence and ground. You can't push an elephant around. However, what's deeply special about elephant is that although, they have a strong and sturdy presence they are gentle, kind, and graceful with their power. Perhaps wisdom has taught them well, as they teach their children down the same line. Elephant represents family, tribe, protection, and inner power. There is so much to learn and receive from elephant with just a few highlighted below.

#BE AWARE OF YOUR OWN POWER
Recognize your own strength and power and take charge of it. Know that you have the power to create anything you want, at any time. The ability to create is inherent to your being and the gift of Divinity. Being who you are will help you know the strength of your power.

#STABILITY
Deeply connect with the earth, the land, the ground. Feel your feet deeply rooted and the weight of every step you take. Seek your steady progress over time. Inner stability comes from knowing you have what it takes to move forward with confidence in the power of your presence.

#WISDOM
Embrace what you know through experience. Wisdom gives you understanding in how to live in the world and what is needed to live a balanced life, that's personal to you and your needs. Being true to yourself is the best path to take.

#INTUITION
A gentle and sensitive nature allows you to feel your body in its full expression. Here, you can value your thoughts especially when they come from a deeper place within you. Being kind and gentle with yourself gives you a place of ease. Tune in and receive what’s happening around and inside you.

#PROTECTION
Protect yourself by standing your ground in what you know is best for you, without wavering. Sense for harmony in all things. This is how you stay safe and balanced.

#NURTURING
Be more aware of your nurturing instincts and those of others. Take care of yourself by respecting what you need, what your personal limits are, and do so in loving ways. In the natural expression of maternal love and compassion, you can be the healing impact of love for yourself and others as well, a source of deep care in action.

#SLOWING DOWN
It’s okay to slow down. Honor your own pace and take your time with people, places, and things. Breathe in extra space and receive what’s there, what's yours, before you “try” to fill it with stuff that may not actually be needed, desired or truly fulfilling.

#SENSITIVITY
Being sensitive is a spiritual gift that taps deeply into your surroundings. Pay attention and feel your way through. Accessing a place of sensitivity supports your ability to be more authentic, open, and honest, to what is present in the moment.

DISSECTING THE WORTH/VALUE EMOTIONAL WOUND

Picture

"In order to feel okay,
we need to feel safe.
To feel safe,
we need to feel stable and grounded."
There are many reason's why one might not feel okay and often times, it's simply because we don't feel safe. We all have a right to feel safe, all the time. However, it can be a difficult experience to create when an unresolved emotional wound kicks up. One common emotional injury is the worth/value wound which says, "I am not okay to just be. It's not safe to be who I am."

If we were to dissect the worth/value emotional wound, we would see there are many moving parts to it. At the root is a belief of not being seen that often fuels an attachment to the experience of neglect. Neglect of any kind can leave us feeling alone on some level and desperate to connect in ways in which, we ignore our needs and/or allow others to not take our needs into consideration. Both are forms of neglect and can perpetuate a behavior pattern better known as "people pleasing and/or gaining approval" to cope with feeling alone or that we don't exist. What it means to be seen is that the parts of us; our identity, emotions, our needs and/or physical presence gets fully recognized through validation, support, and/or inclusion. When we don't feel seen or have had that experience it leaves us feeling invisible, unheard, neglected and abandoned.

Worth/Value Emotional Wound
Distorted Belief
:
"I don't exist"
- This belief can often translate to I am alone.

Dysfunctional Behavior Pattern:
1. People pleasing and/or seeking approval of others.
2. Over-effort and over-striving.

The Cycle of Worth/Value Wound:
the cycle of the worth/value wound can start with not feeling seen on some level. In order to cope with that, we might slip into a behavior pattern known as people pleasing and/or gaining approval. This pattern of behavior might look like, doing more, being more, giving more, etc. which feeds into the core belief, "I don't exist." This distorted belief then triggers the emotional wound of worth/value. Most people don't usually want to touch that sore spot so, we take matters into our own hands. We work harder, do more, be more, give more, and sometimes, even to our own detriment. We push and push, trying to "make it happen" to "fix it" or to just "do" something. There's no rest in doing more; running on fumes, not having enough, doing enough, being enough. It's exhausting. It depletes and distorts our energy, creating feelings of insecurity and stress or moods like anxiety and depression. If we're always doing and never being, we don't rest. Rest gives us space to create and when we feel safe, okay to be who we are, we can rest deeply.

The creative process is our capacity for magic. It is a true freedom in expression and natural abilities. When we rest, creative energy aligns and expresses itself through the power of creation. A baby in the womb is a great example of this. A baby developing in the womb does absolutely nothing but simply rests while, the creative process creates itself into a full fletched human being. If the baby tried to "do" or "fix" and involve itself in any way, it would just create unnecessary work and exhaust itself in the process. It doesn't work. It's not effective and in fact, it complicates an intelligent process already in action. But somehow, we think or believe if we stop working hard, something will not be okay or even worse, that something might be wrong with us. Over-efforting and over-striving creates tension, stress, insecurity, and seizes the self, better known as anxiety. It also corrupts the creative process, freezing any potential for creation. When we don't feel safe, our neurology shifts into survival mode, building consistent levels of stress that sustains overtime. Unresolve stress gets trapped in the body and that chaotic energy containment, leaves us feeling ungrounded; we fight, freeze, or flee. A desperate response to trauma on repeat that continues the emotional wound cycle.
"We all want to feel centered and safe,
yet the ways we're trying to get there are
actually creating more stress."
Feeling grounded in the body is key. It's a form of showing up for ourselves and a greater overall feeling of support. When feelings of insecurity arise or moods like anxiety peek through, we can ground ourselves by coming into the body. We can pause, connect, breath deeply into our presence in the present and notice how the body communicates through us. What are the sensations? Where does your body direct your mind for attention or insight? Does your breath create space inside you or is it constricted and stuck? This is how we emotionally support ourselves. We can also physically ground ourselves by noticing what it feels like when our body is supported from the outside; on the earth, in a chair, bed, car seat. Grounding is about supporting ourselves deeply, inside and out. We can learn to relax deeply inside the body and the mind rather than the tendency to run on urgency. We can deeply listen to what's actually going on in our body and support ourselves in ways that create a safe place for us to land. We can show up for ourselves by just being and the more we can practice and anchor into that, the more we can understand we are inherently good and okay.
You are safe to be exactly who we are and were created to be.
This is the gift of personal worth and value.
MINDFUL BREATHING PRACTICE
Focus on the exhale:
The exhale reminds us that we don't have to keep it all together, hold it all up, get it all done or be more. In the release of your breath, the exhale reminds us we can let go, one moment at a time.

LOVE AND LIFE LESSONS

Picture
LOVE IS PATIENT
- There were times in my life where I’ve experienced myself in places that I “needed,” “yearned,” “wanted,” and “desired.” The state of lack is a space of emptiness and feels unfulfilled. The feeling of emptiness is a void inside and sensations of griping, disconnection, and longing.
- I’ve also experienced others pushing their way in, forcing themselves, bullying, manipulating situations, circumstances, and even me. The state of lack can also show up as aggression to consume. This closes-up space and feelings of anxiety arise because it’s not safe.

LOVE IS KIND
- I have experienced myself in states of judgement, resentment, guilt, regret, shame. In the state of blame, I hurt myself. It’s restrictive, limiting, and blocks my abilities to move forward.
- I’ve also experienced judgements, resentments, guilt, regret, and shame cast upon me from others. From this perspective, blame is like little bombs thrown at parts of character, intention, and the capacity to love. Whether it’s self-inflicted or caught by fire, blame can obliterate parts of our goodness.

IT IS NOT SELF SEEKING
- At times, I’ve experienced myself in pursuit of another. It changes me and I’m no longer true to myself. This space becomes changeable, it often feels outside the self, and that experience feels distorted, confused, and lost.
- I’ve also experienced being chased by another. The state of authenticity changes when the space provided isn’t genuine. This strains potential and feelings of apprehension surface. This is where trust gets questioned.

LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS BUT REJOICES IN THE TRUTH

- Love is a state of true, open availability within the self and with another. It is a space of flow and ease. You feel safe, connected, seen, embraced, and loved. Love does not push or chase. There are no expectations, assumptions, or changes of self. The heart opens naturally, and feelings of love, adoration, and connection emerge in a beautiful, genuine way. Love takes its time, there’s no emptiness, no pain, no questions. It’s steady, even flow, and authentic to your genuine nature. Love is alive, connected and fulfilling.

- LOVE NEVER FAILS

STEPPING INTO YOUR POWER: PART I

Picture
What is the definition of your power?
I’ve been sitting with this question for some time now. I wonder what it is, what it looks like and if it’s the same for everyone? I’ve been thinking about these questions for so long that I feel exasperated at times. How do I step into my power? I saw myself grasping at straws inside those questions. I thought, power must be a symbol of status or financial gain. Maybe it’s the realization of a dream or getting things done, being productive, fearless in my pursuits, and if I fell short of any of that, I wasn’t in my power. It was an exhausting search, depleting me of any power I could’ve possibly had.

Recently, in my practice I was struck by insight! Stepping into my power was not something established outside of myself, and it wasn’t a product of anything I generated to manifest. Taking the first step for me, was defining what my power was or better yet, define what is in my power to practice.

For me, stepping into my power looks like:
- Setting Boundaries
- Going with my personal flow
- Trusting what I feel
- Not settling for anything less
(than what is listed above)

This was a revelation to me, a standard of personal power. “Stepping” into my power had a definition, a face now and “Standing” in my power simply had to be the body, the practice of what the first steps might look like in action. It was clear to me, when you define and begin a practice utilizing your personal power, you find your individual balance and Divine alignment.

The Sacred Self

Picture

When something is Sacred it means there is a relationship of great reverence and devotion in connection with the essence of God. When you connect with the self as Sacred, you are devoted to building that relationship with the important and highly valued qualities of God within yourself. When you treat the self as Sacred, you welcome the imprint of God on your soul into the waking experience of life. You are conscious and operating at a high level of awareness, insight, and wisdom. Those Godlike qualities (love, forgiveness, kindness, service, charity... etc.) become alive in action as you let go or shed human experience and expand your spiritual nature into humanity. You become the example of God made manifest.
THE SACRED I AM
Reconnecting with the Sacred Self does not mean "over-working" and/or doing more. Sacred Self-Care is not the actions of "self care." It is not "to do" for the self but to "BE" the self, vibrating in its highest qualities without waver. In this way, you are not tending to just the body, mind, or emotional parts of you. You are nurturing the self at the level of soul, the relationship with the essence of God that resides inside you. You are cherishing the depths of who you are in that Sacred, spiritual space, fully self-aware and awake. You are honoring the importance of that connection in understanding how to thrive. You are valuing the self as a spiritual spark in the world of humanity, making your mark, by embodying your God-like qualities as an example in-being. These are Sacred acts of consciousness that require a welcoming in, to receive yourself with regard, acceptance, and celebration of ALL parts of you in the most loving, steadfast, and continually refreshing way. Sacred-Self care is a re-birthing process that innovates the experience of ascension. You grow into who you were created to be, firm in the knowledge of who you are, shedding the human experience as you move closer to God and further away from the things of this world that can hold you back.
3 STEPS TO SACRED SELF-CARE
NOURISH
Get to know yourself deeply. Spend quality time forming an inner relationship and self-bond. Discover your qualities, identify, define and refine them. Make your values #1 priority, stick with them, seek them out in others, and hold your qualities in high esteem. Learn to meet your own needs and take good care of yourself.

FORTIFY
Fortify means to strengthen. You protect and maintain your God-like qualities through boundaries; personal, relational, familial, and professional. Do not compromise your qualities/values. Do not make excuses for others. Do not make excuses for yourself. Do not down play your power. Set your limits, stay within those limits, and strengthen your soul.

RENEW
Soul renewal happens when you nourish and fortify yourself on a regular, sometimes daily basis. This is about embrace your Authentic Self. Being who you are. Loving and accepting yourself as you know yourself to be and using your experiences as a platform for growth. Leap into yourself and enjoy the full value of you in loving creation.

THE SPIRIT OF DIVINE ALIGHNMENT

Picture
THE RETURN TO YOUR NATURAL RHYTHMS AND FLOW
The spirit of Divine Alignment is a natural rhythm moving inside the ebb and flow of each moment. When you can identify these beautiful beats of inner acknowledgement and become more familiar with the flow of your truth, you can discern what’s truly best for you. Stepping into this form of right action, establishes a place of personal power that highlights your highest potentials with a gentle support toward what’s right for you in the most authentic way. I often wonder why being gentle with the self can be a source of great resistance. How the neglect of emotional needs has become a source of comfort in which, "where you are and where you want to be" can be so threatening to the overall value of growth. At what point do you embrace the natural flow and rhythms of your personal truth and fully embody your authentic self?

When you don’t seek your natural rhythms first, you stop the inner current of wisdom binding easily, to the downward spirals of the relentless, “I should.” The inner dialogue that sounds like, (I want to do this, but I should do that. I need this but I should settle for that. I feel this, but I should feel that…) and conjures up versions of the self that are defined by others. Thus, creating a lens viewed through perceived expectations, distorted beliefs, and realized/unrealized traumas. “I should” statements can be vague and slippery versions of reality. (You should all over yourself and lose sight of what you need. You should all over yourself and compromise what you value. You should all over yourself and what’s most important becomes insignificant.) "I should" statements moves you further away from what’s right and true for you thereby, depleting your energy and sense of personal power.

The truth lives inside you. It flows with subtle communications in support of your health and well-being. The truth’s gentle rhythms guide you toward the direction of a more balanced energy and a sense of renewed power. What you think you “should do” in one moment, will “feel right” in the next. When you observe statement's like, “I should” you can notice it often present's a dilemma between two opposing thoughts yet, inside the opposition there's always a choice. There is no indecision or lack of motivation in the natural rhythm and flow of Divine Alignment. Your body understands more of what you need in the truth of the moment than your mind likes to think about what you should do. The choice is clear, even if the mind doesn’t accept what’s true. Choosing Divine Alignment is a much stronger foundation to rest on.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FEELING SAFE

Picture
When we feel safe it provides a secure, stable, openness to love and to be loved. It offers an experience of emotional availability to self, others, and environment that encourages the development of the whole child or person. If we’re lucky, we get to experience that deep sense of comfort in childhood and grow into people that are very comfortable with themselves, having an ability to nourish deeper connections, explore with an open wonder and curiosity and take the necessary risks in relationships that are recognizably healthy as well as, identifying when they’re not. Feeling safe, gives us the courage to step into our power 100% without question, to feel our innate goodness and be authentic in the complete wholeness of who we are. Simply put, feeling safe makes the experience of connection possible.

It’s a common expression that most people don’t feel safe much of the time. The lack of that initial experience can trigger feelings of fear, doubts, personal insecurities, and even emptiness. It’s those feelings, and the emotional, energetic attachments to them, that prevent the understanding of connection and experience of what we feel. We shut down, hold back, feel stuck, freeze/fight/ escape, or act on impulse rather than our wisdom. Many of us never heard, “you’re okay or it's okay, that you’re not alone because someone believes in you and standing by to help and support. Many of us have not been reassured so we can be self-assured.

The importance in feeling safe helps you connect to yourself, own what’s important to you and know, without a shadow of doubt, that YOU ARE IMPORTANT. What you feel, need, value, and know are all important. It’s so important, so precious, that you protect it and keep yourself safe. Feeling safe helps you find that space inside yourself that allows you to just be (a natural phenomena before you were born) so, you cultivate the skills to love yourself differently and protect what’s important to you.

We Work Toward Wholeness

Picture
We sometimes hear the phrase, “I hate to break it to you…” because the truth hurts. It can yield an undeniable power that interrupts a false belief and stop an illusion dead in its tracks. It inhibits falsehoods, and course corrects internal stories or personal narratives bringing to light a new understanding. The truth changes perspective like lightening stuns the ground, highlighting the present moment with a newfound clarity. It is a Divine force to be reckoned with in action and builds momentum until completion. It doesn’t apologize for itself and can break-through the walls of the personality, revealing the breakthrough we often seek.

The truth is, we are all divinely fractured in one way or another, that’s the beauty of being human. As human beings, we are meant to build toward the understanding of wholeness by embracing the truth of our spirit-self to manifest it through the physical experience. We sometimes think it’s human nature to strive toward something greater. The truth is, it’s the spirit inside that recognizes misalignments and moves you toward your whole-self and the human nature, just comes along for the ride. The experience of brokenness connects us to our desire to be whole. Underneath those fractured parts is your truth, the reality of your purpose, and the path toward your unique journey into a complete being or enlightened soul.

The truth is electric! It shatters the system for us to wake us up, to see the light. The truth is strong in conviction, it removes the propensity to hold on to things with no purpose and obliterates old paradigms that hold us back. There is great intention for the break-through, those moments of brokenness. It highlights our authentic, soul-self, bringing into focus that we must serve ourselves well first. As we work toward our own wholeness, we can be of better service to the world.
We work toward wholeness to know the truth of who we are.

FAITH HOLDS THE PIECES TOGETHER

Picture
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord in pieces like squares of a quilt torn and lain in many piles on the floor. An angel sat next to me as I weaved my squares together into a tapestry that reflected my life. Each square, labeled with stories that had been difficult, challenges, temptations, and hardships that left giant holes in the threads that held my life together. As I began to connect the pieces, I noticed how ragged and empty the squares were and as I gazed upon my own life, I felt disheartened and dismayed. "What would God think of me and what I made of my life?"

The time came for my life to be displayed, held up to the light of God and for the truth to be seen. My angel looked upon me and nodded for me to rise. My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I felt embarrassed to present my life to the Lord. "It was full of holes!" I had to start over many times and often struggled with giving up or losing sight with what God had placed in my heart. Somehow, I didn’t believe that I could do it, whatever it was. I spent many days and nights praying, asking for help, guidance, and direction. God would answer and show me his face in many ways and in that moment, I believed in something but somehow, I would get swallowed up again in that relentless doubt in myself, my gifts, of who God created me to be. I felt guilty that I didn’t believe in myself, in my path, or God in those moments when my life seemingly fell apart at the seams.

Now, I had to face the truth. The story of my life was what it was, and I had to accept it. I rose before the Lord and slowly lifted the quilt of my life with all the holes, up to the light. I was afraid to look into the eyes of God. I feared disapproval and disgust. God said, “Open your eyes.” I took a deep breath and slowly revealed myself. I gasped at the sight. I was struck with awe. What I saw was the most astonishing, most beautiful image before me. Light flooded into the many holes in the tapestry of my life. The Lord stood before me, with love in His eyes. He said, “I was always there even when you didn’t see Me.” “Each point of light is when you stepped aside and allowed Me to shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you."

There is no doubt in Faith yet, life is so full of surprises and twists and turns that it can be hard to take hold of something. It's easier to doubt then to hold fast onto something greater than ourselves. Sometimes, I wonder if doubt is what we hold to because we don’t know what will happen from one moment to the next but Faith, is not about knowing the future. It’s a belief with strong conviction in something for which there may be no tangible proof. Faith is the opposite of doubt. It is a complete trust, a confidence, a reliance, or devotion in what we hope for with the assurance that God is working on it, even if we don’t see it with our own eyes. Faith is felt, our inner navigator and demonstrates an unwavering certainty in that knowing. Faith is strength when we feel we have none and it’s hope when all seems lost. Faith isn't just something to grip hold of when times are tough. It's a continuous devotion of Divine assurance. It's a stream of consciousness that moves through our minds seamlessly. It is the beacon of light that patches up all the dips, rips and holes we may face in life. Faith is the light shining through you until there is more of God than there is of you.

A REJECTION WOUND HAS A VOICE OF ITS OWN

Picture

"I’m not heard. I feel ignored. I’m not important. My needs go unnoticed.
I feel alone. I feel empty. Nobody likes me…"

These statements are hard to swallow but they represent the voice of rejection, the wound that aches inside the body. It speaks loud and clear through the mind and can feel as though it’s behind the scene's taunting you. It shows up as blaming, shaming, critical, judgmental self-talk and is relentless to endure. As children, we had yet to develop a discerning ability to separate a sense of self-worth from the actions modeled by others. Therefore, inadvertently, converging the dysfunctional behavior of others with a sense of personal lack, severely distorting the view of the self at a fundamental level. The experience, fractures the connection to the foundation of self and uproots the possibilities of understanding who we are. It plants an unhealthy seed inside the psyche that says something’s intrinsically wrong with the self. We begin to believe, that love is not deserved but that also, there is no love to be given. Once that seed fully blooms, it obliterates the self and corrupts any experiences to follow. That severed connection or dis-connection makes it hard to believe that we are deserving of any goodness and makes it increasingly difficult to feel whole.

I was in the beginning stages of frozen shoulder when I went for a massage. The pain was so severe, it was hard to stay present. My mind kept falling into channels of stuck energy that felt impossible to move through but I was determined. I stayed focused. I took really deep breaths. The pain was so great, I could hear myself screaming in my head. Then for a moment, a voice rose into my consciousness and through the pain, it said, “I deserve love.” The statement didn’t faze me in that moment but I repeated it in my mind. It became a silent mantra, “I deserve love, I deserve love, I deserve love…” I didn’t stop. I wouldn't stop, even through the pain, I just kept going.

Eventually, the pain did subside and I was able to tolerate the massage more. Then, I thought about the message. I took it literal, “through the pain, I deserve love.” I thought, the pain I feel deserves love… The pain deserves love… Pain deserves love. If I can accept what’s there, then I can give myself what I need to feel better. I relaxed deeper into the massage, into the message, into myself than the voice came back, but this time, I heard something different. It said, “I deserve TO BE loved.” That I, the person, the self, deserves to be loved. To be loved. Be Loved. Beloved. I’m the beloved. Love is inherent in me.

The messages were so powerful that I got the sense they were the key to unlocking the healing potentials of the rejection wound. I realized these statements were not separate, they were connected and they weren’t just for me, but for the world. They are the missing links that establish a new connection, a self-connection. That the experience of pain separates us from the experience of love. It disconnects us from the whole and what we deserve. Once you get that, the magic happens. A new foundation anchors in the sense of self and you reclaim your worth, you take back your innocence, and that emptiness inside starts to fill with love. All those disconnected parts start to link back differently, into a state of wholeness. It's Acceptance and Love that heal the wound of rejection.

Jennifer

Emotional Wellness & Wisdom Coaching

Picture

Sometimes, we get a glimpse of what's inside us, thoughts, emotions, belief systems that make us uncomfortable. When these wounded parts come through, it can be disruptive, and/or at the very least, just not something we want to acknowledge is there. Be open to yourself, to what wants to be seen, to be heard, to be released and to be redeemed.

FACE IT-
See it for what it is, for what it reveals, for the purity in authentic expression. Do not waiver. Do not run. Do not resign yourself or press repeat. Stand firm. Acknowledge what’s there and is communicating through you.
EMBRACE IT-
Accept what is. Accept what’s there and that you’re able see what’s no longer hidden. Embrace what’s real for you in that moment. It’s okay. Sometimes, we feel deeply and it hurts. Sometimes, thoughts don’t serve us and can be punishing. Sometimes, our behavior don’t match with what’s most important to us. Embrace it. Embrace it all so, you can evolve. We can not forsake what wants to be transformed.
LOVE IT DIFFERENTLY-
Love what comes through you, even the things you don't want to look. Be brave. Beat the odds and give yourself a chance. Love yourself in the ways that others might not have known how to.

Love,
Jennifer

What is a Spiritual Calling-

Picture
Your Spiritual Calling is that deep internal pull or pang that moves you in the direction of wholeness, whether you’re conscious of it or not. It’s that feeling of magnetic alignment in an experience of completeness as your human self, connects with your divinity. Your God-given gifts reflect your natural self, the being you were created to be. You were blessed before you were even born so you can help create a place of Heaven on Earth. You are meant to fulfill a higher purpose in life and your Divinity, is the whole essence of beyond planted inside you as a path to follow- - that is the call.

Listen deeply, your Soul is Calling.
What stands out, what is different and unique about you?
Are you sensitive and have the gift of intuition?
Are you creative and have a natural writing ability, song or dance?
Perhaps, your words carry healing messages, direction and encouragement.
Maybe you are filled with wisdom and presence and bring a sense of calm and peace to those around you, becoming the safe haven for suffering.

Take a moment and witness the natural abilities you have, tune in. Listen to what other’s may say when they see your light shine. You alone have the power to be great in who you are. You have a divine plan to follow today, listen deeply.

Jennifer

Inner-Being Blessings

Picture
INNER-BEAUTY BLESSINGS

We all can struggle with worry about our future. When this anxiety overtakes, it’s hard to feel secure and confident in yourself, your path, in God or your purpose. We can lose sight of what’s in front us and land in a state of constant questioning. Blessings can be hard to come by. Sometimes, we’re not a witness to them. They may be behind the scenes or we just don’t pay attention because our focus is somewhere else. When this happens, I go back to my practice.

I chose an activation and meditation set that works on clearing the arc line. Over a 5-day period, I was witness to many blessings in my life. Then on day-4, I was given a solid statement that stopped me in my tracks. I wasn’t shown a bunch of “stuff” that was either given to me nor did I receive information that changed my perspective. I distinctly heard, “I am a blessing.”

On day-5, I realized I was given the trifecta of favor; I've been blessed. I am blessed. And I am a blessing. I was shown through my dedication in practice, I was infused with blessings, protection and Grace. That from all the experiences I may have witnessed, I am loved by something greater than just the human experience but more so, by the Divine. To know that I am a blessing in the eyes of God is not only favor but an act of approval, like when your love asks your parents for their blessing of the union. In those times when inner struggle strikes, it disconnects me from the truth, not in having to look for blessings but to know that I AM the BLESSING.

- And you are too.

EMOTIONAL PURGING- THE PEAK POINT OF HEALING

Picture

The thought of healing can conjure up quite a bit of emotion in a person that’s been hurting for a long time. We want to heal and we want it now. However, that kind of thinking creates expectations not natural to the state of healing and the deeper connections that helps us transform. Some believe, a healing experience should be instant with the immediate absence of physical or emotional discomfort that requires no effort on their part moving forward. Nobody really tells you this but sometimes the healing hurts more than the wound. There are stages to healing like there are stages to growth and all of which, can be temporarily uncomfortable, even painful as we regain our natural state in being. As you begin to repair the modes of survival, the nervous system recalibrates and the differences between can feel foreign. You might notice you want to sleep more or are not feeling up to doing things you once liked. You might even feel unsure about your direction and find yourself at a standstill. This part of transitioning in the healing process can have you feel disoriented and thoughts can be more self-critical than nurturing. You start questioning yourself, whether there’s something wrong with you or somehow, you just missed the mark.

I believe, the healing experience is rooted in resolving emotional trauma. E-motion is energy in motion and makes up your inner source and well-spring of energy, you either allow it to fuel you forward or you hold it back. It’s your personal, internal barometer system that informs you about the quality of your energy, personal interactions, and gives you impactful experiences that you’ll never forget. The human habit is to not feel, especially, when what we feel doesn’t feel good. We’ve learned safety measures to help us cope by using blocking strategies like suppression, rejection, and disconnection. Inadvertently, those gestures retraumatize the wound in the most potent and precious portion of therapeutic potentials. The healing practice is to unlock held in or held back emotional content which, will naturally release wound trauma energy, (i.e., shaking) and its associated feeling, (i.e., disappointment). This means, what you’re working to clear will re-appear, and even, intensify so you can understand how to accept the wound differently, in a more compassionate and nurturing way.

Emotional purging is the process of eliminating emotions that become harmful to you and your life when contained over time, (i.e., anger, grief, resentment, sadness, hurt, loss). The purge is the peak point, the most powerful part of the healing experience. There is a gain in the release and you begin the journey back to your natural state and flow. You get a chance to witness locked-in emotions and feel their specific energetic signature. This allows the pain to be heard in a safe space, in its natural state, so you can truly let it go and free your energetic flow. You become available to your whole-self which is the most essential, integrative part of the clearing and cleansing process. Understand that even the most uncomfortable stages of healing are part of the natural process of release, repair, and integration. It will settle and you will feel more space in your body along with, a new energetic vibration you can rest assured in.

Personal Responsibility

Picture

Personal responsibility is an essential aspect of your health and emotional well- being. Only you can direct your path and the outcomes of your personal experiences. It's within your right to choose, to stand by your choices, and take the steps necessary to produce what you intend. In order to truly step into your power you have to know yourself well. Taking personal responsibility means that you take control of aspects of your life with a conscious intent to guide your thoughts, feelings, actions and words in your favor. It means you stop blaming; yourself, others, circumstances, the universe, for things you feel unhappy about or are not happening quick enough or even, at a stand-still. You stop complaining to yourself, to others, and actively flip the script to seek solutions. You refuse to sacrifice yourself by giving away power; to others, to circumstances, to family members, to the universe. You stop taking things personally and get personal with yourself. You plant the seed of happiness in your being, everyday, you tend to it, everyday and you realize you make your own happiness. It means you live in the present moment and use the power of intention to direct your life, in your work, in your family life, in your relationships including the one you build with yourself.

Taking care of yourself comes from the choices you make and that supports, the efforts in taking care of others. Healing is the potential of making whole. It is the complete experience of the self manifested, present and powerful. A healthy relationship doesn’t require you to fix another, wait for them to change or reflect back their harmful behaviors, in the hope they’ll act differently. When you take personal responsibility for your choices, you direct your path differently, not by circumstance but by your personal standard of value. Take control of your life and live according to your values. Your thoughts will be more productive and you’ll feel better. It’s okay to take care of yourself first.

Tuning into the Frequency of You-

Picture
Frequency and energy are not the same things but they are related. Energy generates light and frequency determines the strength or weakness of that light. Frequency is the energetic feedback and tuning in, aligns your consciousness with the source of light or (energy) inside you. Therefore, tuning in becomes such an important focus of practice because it helps you discern the best way to tend to and take care of your energy.

My yoga practice helps me understand this concept. Sometimes, I need a slower, more meditative practice because I feel overloaded with too much energy that hasn’t been properly grounded. Other times, I feel I need to engage with a more active practice to generate more energy and increase my inner light. Then there are times, I just need to breath and re-harmonize my energy to regain some refreshment and renewal. Tuning in helps us quickly recover, maintain balanced energy, and a sense of wholeness. Frequency is our energetic feedback and a personal guide to inner illumination and soul magnification.

    TIS` THE SEASON OF HEART
    Picture
December can be a magical month for some and a fulfilling time of year. We get a chance to embrace the spirit of sharing, celebrating, and witnessing a sense of wonder and joy through the eyes of children and adults alike. Tis the season of heart, when the world steps into a place of family, togetherness, and hope. It’s an end of a year that begins an active path of giving and receiving, rooted in a coming together of values and the essence of home. The holiday season fills the atmosphere with magic. The air is crisp and clean, the sun glistens off streets by day and lights aglow in homes by night. There is a sense of warmth, deep nourishment, and care as we nestle into hearty foods like soups, stews, and hot chocolate or bundle up with sweaters, scarves, blankets and loved ones surrounded by light, hope, and the stillness of love in the air and within our hearts.

The heart is full of life and love. It represents engagement in partnership and never leads alone... It never beats alone... One pulse follows the other and always in the direction of union which requires partnership. We learn to connect and re-connect through heart-experience, and this is magnified between a pair of arms that allow us to reach out and touch what we love all the while, cradled and comforted between two breasts that safely hold everything that we feel. We are given the opportunity to feel the magic of life, connection, and harmony both individually and collectively. The season of heart reminds us to create a spark of life and that we cannot go about doing that alone. It is about togetherness. It is about sharing. It is about giving and receiving. It is all about the ways of the heart. We simply relate and create in a blended continuum of wholeness. The heart does not beat alone... It does not lead alone... One pulse follows the other in complete unification.

This is a time of un-veiling, re-vealing, and an un-folding of the self into the inner sweetness of comfort and warmth. It’s a reminder of the mother-child experience, the inner connection and bond of unconditional love. Our very own place to rest and rejuvenation through celebration and creation, completely disarmed and fully embraced in the natural state of being. Let the heart lead you toward a clear passage and cleansing, a shedding of the old self. Let the heart guide you in nurturing your life and all that you live for. Let the heart take you in and give you the space to surrender on a clean slate, to be reborn in conception as you grow into the new, calm and cradled in the Divine feminine, inside the season of heart.

    CONSCIOUS BALANCE
    Picture
It’s time to get out of the “cookie cutter” version of what healing should look like and shift back into our own personal experience and guidance. Sometimes, the path to healing can feel off balancing and can cause concern. We forget that being off balance is also for good purpose in defining it. The act of balance looks to the center of opposing forces to reveal a place of wholeness. This is the path to healing. The gift in that is in being open and available to both sides to integrate them as a point of conscious balance.

Let’s look at pain for example. Pain is real. It’s relentless. It reveals itself through the body. It wants to be seen. It beckons to be heard. It tugs at you every minute of every day. Pain is restrictive, trapped in the body with no space and we suffer. Pain is suffering, the physical manifestation of being held in, held back, shut down and buried within your own emotions. Your physical becomes the storehouse for emotional energy that has been ignored, unacknowledged and suppressed. Pain is a barometer, an internal broadcast system for the feelings buried inside, screaming to be heard. To be acknowledged. To be cleared. To be loved.

Every healing journey will not look the same. It’s a personal pursuit-

Have you ever sat with the inner voice of your own pain? I have and it had a lot to say. Pain is a lot more than just the name we gave. It’s the culmination of stuck emotions, blocked feelings, experiences, memories, unconscious belief systems and because of this, pain can be the source of evolution. Acknowledging what exists inside you, begins the path that serves as a healing direction. All of it is important information. Sometimes, the tendency is to give up because we don’t like what we see and it can be hard to move through. This is when healing becomes dedication and time invested becomes discovery. I’ve thought about pain. I’ve been in pain. I’ve worked through and with pain. It occurred to me, like a whole being awareness that the other side of pain, is pleasure. What a revelation! It never occurred to me that pleasure could be a root deficiency to the experience of pain. I was totally invested inside the pain that I missed out on any form of pleasure. I thank God for that moment in wholeness. Pleasure was now part of understanding personal balance and became a priority.

When we embrace the other side, pain can rest. We cease falling back into rigid, perfectionism disguised as discipline and the “trigger” has a place to go, a space to flourish. My personal healing did not look ideal or what I had anticipated. I found rest. There was no more pushing or forcing life forward. The grip was loosening and I took in some fun, sweeter foods, conscious movement based on my needs rather than any “should’s.” My healing journey through pain helped me find a better balance within myself, a conscious balance. When you make your healing journey personal, it moves you, changes you, transforms you. Shift away from the “call to action” approach to healing and move deeper into intimate understanding. Let that be the life-giving medicine you need.

    Love,
    Jennifer🌸
