THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOGA
The significance of yoga goes way beyond the practice of body movements and postures. The term yoga is known by many to simply mean “union” but there is nothing simple about creating an inner state of objective alliance. To unite, is to take two sides of opposing forces and merge them into a state of oneness or balance, creating a seamless thread that runs in between. Yoga is the practice of union that enables us to engage with both sides in order to find that point between that steadies equilibrium, the neutral place or a position of calm amidst the chaos.
In this exploration toward inner stillness the pursuit of unity becomes the meaningful drive to engage, participate and connect with the deeper inner workings of your being. Yoga than becomes a process of discovery, a training in inner intimacy, and a vehicle in being deeply rooted in the understanding of that space between body and spirit or the complete state of being. Complete, meaning one or the union of the whole which, may be the closest encounter we will ever consciously experience, in perfect union with infinity or God.
