Sometimes, while moving toward a goal, feelings of being stuck or sudden confusion and stress may arise. Feelings of disappointment can also surface, perhaps a measurement of efforts or overwhelming thoughts of taking two steps forward and 100 steps back. Even experiences of talking the self into believing current tasks are much harder than they actually are, tend to rear their distorted heads.
We often attribute these kind of emotional experiences as a lack of confidence or a misguided use of personal power. Although, your sense of confidence can be affected during the process, it is a sense of low self-efficacy that places fault, on low or a lack of ability. In this framework, you can lose sight of your personal potential, undermine your inherent strengths and place your gifts on the back burner.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF SELF-EFFICACY?
Self-efficacy is not self-image, self-worth, or any other similar construct. It is the belief you have ability to meet the challenges ahead and to complete a task successfully. The underlying measurement is based on the strength of your individual faith in your own abilities, capabilities, and capacity to achieve what you set out to do in a successful way. It is important to note the distinction between ability and capability here.
Having Ability to do something means: You are able to carry out the task.
Having Capability to do something means: You have the potential but may not have mastered the skill yet.
Having Capability to do something means: You have the potential but may not have mastered the skill yet.
When you have a strong sense of self-efficacy, you trust in yourself, your abilities, skills, knowledge and wisdom. This gives you that extra layer of confidence in knowing that what you put forth, will be successful.
You can build your level of self-efficacy by stacking your success, surrounding yourself with people who believe you can succeed and working through your own psychological/emotional charges in a loving way.

4 WAYS TO BE SELF-SUSTAINING
1. Keep track of activities in-line with your goal:
List 3 and how they make you feel.
2. Integrate positive self-talk:
Give yourself compliments. Remind yourself what motivates you and what makes you happy. Efficacy starts when you start questioning yourself and listen to the answers.
3. Look back at achievements:
Focus more on what you've gained and recall achievements. Remember your past successes and say it out loud so you can hear yourself. Make a list of all past accomplishments and successes. Come back to that list every time your self-trust trembles. Stay on track, no matter the size of achievements, keeping a reminder handy prevents losing perspective or undermining your capabilities.
4. Self-awareness:
You must put time and effort into knowing yourself well. This is the process of self-mastery and when you master the self, you are 100% self-efficient.
