I PRETEND

I pretend to be an actress,
so I can feel safe and believe deeply-

I feel vulnerable out in the darkened city
where light only shines on business hours
and smart proposals-
I touch the tips of my heart and worry
to be seen in blares of hostility
among the people in the courtyard yet,
They All Cry...

I Cry-
For my faith runs thin.
If only I could touch the tips of another
Human - Being
but where is Humanity...?
